Young Philanthropist Award
Nominations Sought

Nominations are being accepted for the Young Philanthropist Award. The Youth Advisory Committee (Y.A.C.) of the M&M Area Community Foundation, together with the Stephenson National Bank and Trust, provide an opportunity to annually recognize and reward young volunteers who transform their communities for the better. The award recipient(s) must be a student that resides in the counties of Marinette or Menominee, be a high school student, public or private, in grades 9-12, and be nominated for his/her volunteerism that exceeds their schools’ community service requirements and benefits non-profit organizations other than schools.

A special Awards Ceremony will take place in May. The winner will receive a framed certificate, a $200.00 scholarship, and a grant in the amount of $400.00 to be given to the charitable organization of the winner’s choice.

Nomination forms are available at www.mmcommunityfoundation.org or by contacting the M&M Area Community Foundation (864-3599). Forms should be submitted to: M&M Area Community Foundation, Attn: Y.A.C., 1101 11th Avenue, Menominee, MI, 49858. Completed forms must be postmarked by March 30, 2007.

The first annual Young Philanthropist Award was presented to the Menominee High School Student Council on May 25, 2006 at the Youth Advisory Committee Grant Awards Ceremony.
