Riverside Charity Classic The premier local golf event of the summer—the two-day Riverside Charity Golf Classic—will kick off with dinner and dancing on Friday evening, June 22, at Riverside Country Club. Sponsored by Riverside Country Club, the Classic brings local golfers together to have fun and support two charitable organizations. The Classic has become so popular that it was recently expanded to a two-day event. On Friday night, the fun starts with a social hour at 5:00 P.M., followed by dinner, both a live and a silent auction, and dancing. Items to be auctioned include: A trip for two to Washington, DC; Four Club Seat Packer tickets; cocktail and dinner parties; Mackinac Island package, and much, much more! Live music will be provided during the cocktail hour and after dinner by The Diplomats, led by Bill Plemel. On Saturday, June 23, the 18-hole, 4-person scramble golf tournament will get under way with registration beginning at 8:30 A.M. and a shotgun start at 9:30 A.M. The tournament will include many on-course events to be followed by a social hour, lunch, and awards. Registration deadline is Friday, June 15. The cost for dinner only is $35 per person, and the cost for golf only is $50 per person. The cost for dinner and golf is $80 per person. Tables for 10 may be purchased for $400 or $500, and tables for 8 may be purchased for $300 (see below). Tables purchased by businesses or individuals will be reserved with a sign advertising the sponsor’s name. Tee and green sponsorships are also available for $150. Half of the proceeds from this year’s Classic will go to support the Bay Area Medical Center Foundation, and the other half will go to the M&M Area Community Foundation. In the past, Riverside Charity Classic funds have been used to support the Spies Field Renovation Project, the Rainbow House, Habitat for Humanity, the Menominee Animal Shelter, Chappee Rapids Audubon Society, the Family Independence Agency, the DAR Boys & Girls Club, the Greater M&M YMCA, to name a few.
