2006 Grants and Scholarships
$43,500 AWARDED IN GRANTS BY
THE M & M AREA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
A total of $44,000 in grants has been awarded to 20 non-profit and
charitable groups in Marinette and Menominee counties. Many of the
grants were made for Health and Economic Development programs.
Dr. North Shetter co-chair of the Foundation’s Grant Review
Committee, pointed out that the grant awards are in addition to the
$28,000 in grants made by the Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee
earlier this year. An additional $60,385 was granted in scholarships
this year. The Foundation also awarded a $25,000 grant from the B.J.
Stupak Memorial Fund to the Spies Field Expansion Project. Total
grants and scholarships awarded for the year total $165,885.
Grants were awarded at the Annual Meeting of the M & M Area
Community Foundation Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at the Riverside Country
Club. Organizations receiving awards were the:
• Menominee Area Public Schools--$2,300 for Developing Economics
Through Literacy program.

Twin Bridge Rescue Squad--$1,300 to Purchase an Automatic Emergency
Defibrillator
•
Twin Counties Free Clinic--$5,000 for Medication Assistance for Patients.
•
Crivitz Ski Cats Waterski Club--$2,050 for Sound System Upgrade Project.
•
The Greater M&M YMCA--$2,160 for the YMCA Wellness Outreach Program.
•
Marinette County Parks & Outdoor Recreation--$1,200 for Lake
Noquebay Trail Boardwalk.
•
Digital Workforce Education Society--$2,500 for Crivitz Area Outreach
Initiative.
•
Camp Daniel--$1,300 to Purchase an Automatic Emergency Defibrillator
•
Marinette Middle School--$500 for Emotional Behavioral Disabilities
Program.
•
Marinette County Elderly Services--$2,000 for Kitchen Equipment.
•
FROSTBYTE Team 754 Robotics--$2,500 for First Lego League/VEX Youth
Project.
•
Pembine/Dunbar/Beecher Rescue Squad--$1,300 to Purchase an Automatic
Emergency Defibrillator.
•
Marinette County Historical Society--$1,890 for Santa Collection
Project
•
Marinette County 4-H--$800 for Tobacco Preventation
•
Menominee School District--$3,000 for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra
Educational Youth Concert.
•
UW-Extension--$1,400 for Economic Impact Modeling Software.
