2016 Philanthropy Fund Grant Recipients
CASA of Menominee County received a grant to train volunteers so they may provide quality advocacy for abused and neglected children.
The Crivitz Area Youth Group will use their funding to allow group members to serve as camp counselors. The students will provide one-on-one assistance at Camp Daniel’s summer camping program. This program offers people with physical, intellectual and development disabilities, ages 8 – 70, a camp program specifically geared to their needs.
The grant to Fish Volunteer Services will be directed towards transportation needs.
Families and children in the Crivitz area will benefit from a grant to Good Music for A Good Cause. This non-profit provides funding for gas cards for families dealing with serious health issues and assisting students who are unable to participate in school activities because of financial constraints.
Volunteer Chaplains will purchase radios, flashlights, jackets and other equipment with their Philanthropy Fund grant. This program is a partnership with Marinette County Sheriff’s Department.
Menominee County 4-H received a grant for their Growing Gardens Together Program. Students form Carney, Menominee and Stephenson will use the funds for seeds and plants for local gardens. The produce they grow will be distributed to local non-profits.
A grant to the Great Start Collaborative will provide books to local children through the Imagination Library.
New freezers will be purchased by St. Vincent de Paul of Marinette County with their Philanthropy Fund grant. Last year, the district food pantry served almost 14,000 people in our communities.
The funding provided to The Salvation Army will be used to increase assistance for rent and utilities for families in need.
Wausaukee Enterprises Inc. is a community based rehabilitation facility serving adults with disabilities. Their grant will be used for a summer recreation program, which includes community excursions and other life skills training.
